My cousin is Sq. Ldr Brian John Edward Lane DFC 19 Squadron Fighter Command shot down over the North Sea on 13th December 1942 his body was never recovered. I have written his biography including that of his wife Eileen - sadly not for publication - but simply my legacy to my grandchildren. I am fortunate to have a copy of his book Spitfire The Experience of a Battle of Britain Fighter Pilot first issue 1942. My latest acquisition is a copy of his Log Books providing a daily insight into his relatively short time in the RAF. I am convinced he would have contributed very much more to the war effort and moved on to greater things had he survived the war. Not a high scorer but very much respected, trusted and loved by everyone who knew him. God bless you Brian RIP
